National Weather Service Issues Flood Advisory for County

Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory; rain up to 1.5 inches per hour

Fri Apr 13, 2012 | 08:21am

Scattered thunderstorms will continue to move across the region. Highest rainfall rates with the strongest storms have been between one half and three quarters of an inch per hour.

Rainfall of this intensity will produce widespread ponding of water on roadways and localized flooding of intersections and low-lying areas… as well as increased runoff in streams.

Precautionary/preparedness actions

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
