The Goleta school checked in at 597 on Newsweek’s list of top 1,000 high schools and 671 on U.S. News & World Report’s list of best high schools. Such rankings are based on data like graduation rates, college-acceptance rates, state proficiency test performance, and IB (international baccalaureate) and AP (advanced placement) exam results. The Newsweek ranking was focused on data from the 2010-11 school year while U.S. News looked at 2009-10.
