Double Down

The statistics Nick Welsh cites regarding gang violence shows that the gang injunction, or merely the threat of one is working, so I say double-down. He states that the city has spent at least half a million getting the gang injunction to court, not including the cost of the legal sparring with the attorneys representing the “30 baddest apples.” (Who pays these guys?) How much will the Vargas-Velasquez murder, which Chris Meagher paints with both the perp and deceased as victims, cost our city and state when all is said and done? If a gang injunction prevents one such instance, I am sure it would more than pay for itself. This “middle aged whitey” (as Welsh described himself) is willing to risk violence to civil rights if it reduces the chances of violence to my throat.
