I agree with D.J. Palladino’s review of the Santa Barbara Bowl concert with Joe Cocker and Huey Lewis and the News. However, I noticed Huey checking his pulse a couple of times. I also noticed Huey dropping his harmonica. I noticed Huey looking kind of greyish/pale towards the end of the show. It seemed like it was an effort for him to pick up the microphone stand at the end.
I love music, I love life, and I appreciate life. I also know how fragile life is. I went to see Joe Cocker, and was waiting for Joe Cocker. But something was not right with Huey. To me, that was obvious. I think, whatever was going on, Huey’s thought was, “The show must go on.”
