Ribbon Cutting and Re-opening of the Kellogg Tennis Courts

These courts were dedicated to the County of Santa Barbara in the 1960s by the developer of the surrounding community. The courts have provided countless hours of recreational tennis play for the community. Over the years, the courts deteriorated and were in need of repair and renovation.

The Parks Division of the Community Services Department, working in conjunction with Second District Supervisor Janet Wolf, began refurbishment of these courts in May of 2012. Today, the Kellogg Tennis Courts have been resurfaced, a new wind screen has been installed and a newly paved walking path surrounding the tennis courts is completed. The courts will continue to provide the community with a safe neighborhood outlet for recreational tennis.

“The Kellogg Tennis Courts are a wonderful free recreational resource in our community,” said Supervisor Wolf. “Their renovation will provide even more opportunity for recreation in the Second District, and I am so pleased to see the completion of this project.”

On Wednesday, November 14, 2012, Second District Supervisor Janet Wolf will join Community Services staff in re-opening the newly improved Kellogg Tennis Courts. The ribbon cutting will take place at noon with refreshments to follow.
