Following the passage of Proposition 30, the Santa Barbara school district returned to the bargaining table with its unions and restored all seven furlough days for employees, including five instruction days for students, stretching their year from 175 to 180 days.
Santa Barbara County — a year after imposing a contract on SEIU Local 721, which represents 400 or so county employees — has agreed to a contract with the union similar to one used with other employee groups.
