De la Vina Dumping

Wed Jan 02, 2013 | 12:33pm

Amid the shopping carts carelessly lining the long street connecting uptown and downtown, De La Vina is a favorite resting spot for unwanted gear including wornout and broken sofas, mattresses, televisions, and dressers. Over the past few days, a twin box-spring (no mattress) has been carefully placed atop a sofa that has been on the sidewalk for over a month on West De La Guerra at De La Vina.

So, how do we stop this? “No dumping” signs, with warnings that you will be fined for dumping, and enforcement? But, since I don’t see that happening anytime soon: All you dumpers, while periodically someone may want that old microwave right from the curb, please do our community a true favor and make the trip to Goodwill.
