RECYCLE-WEAR: While developing promotional materials for this week’s issue on Earth Day, which include suggestions on what to do with used copies of The Santa Barbara Independent, advertising designers Marianne Kuga and Cassi Lindberg figured, “Why don’t we figure out how to do some of these things ourselves?” The results are a couple of oversized sunhats, a handful of headbands, and a bevy of baskets, all woven together with newsprint. They’ll be raffled off as part of this weekend’s Earth Day Festival at Alameda Park, where The Independent will host a fun-filled, Frisbee-flinging booth. See you there!
