Noise Exchange Theory

Responding to comments which claimed that the fair noise was so loud it traveled miles and crushed others’ joys.

When loud fun comes a-knocking,

And your house starts a-rocking,

Despite desire for peace and quiet,

You can try to chase it off,

But it’s likely it will scoff,

At your lack of desire to try it –

Crank up your volume of fun,

Build walls to block out everyone,

Or stoically resign to abide by it.

It will visit you, like it or not,

Until your last cell of fun rots,

Attempting to tempt you to give in –

Life’s noise can’t be squashed or smothered,

But some sounds can be exchanged for others –

Fingers crossed the next noise is less grim.
