Subsidy Subsided

Once, Santa Barbara was the model city for a clean environment — with expanded bike paths and electric buses plus a few free charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs). But within the past few months, the city has eliminated the free outlets and is now charging a fee for their use, plus the usual parking fees.

On the other hand, the City of Santa Monica welcomes electric vehicles by providing 40 free charging stations with 80 more in the works. Santa Monica also allows free street parking for all EVs.

Seems that Santa Monica rewards her citizens’ efforts to clean their environment while the City of Santa Barbara punishes!
