The Channel City Chorus, Santa Barbara’s chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, sang on the Far Western District contest stage for the first time in nearly a decade last Saturday in Bakersfield. Singing Walkin’ My Baby Back Home and Cecelia (Does Your Mother Know You’re Out), the CCC finished 22nd with an average score of 59.1. The Chorus qualified for the District contest last May at the Division Contest after a seven-year absence from the competition circuit.

The CCC is the only barbershop chorus to claim Santa Barbara as its home. They rehearse every Monday night at First Presbyterian Church, 21 E. Constance, Monday nights at 7 PM. Currently, the Chorus is preparing for the upcoming holiday season when it will perform as the Holiday Harmony Chorus. All men who love to sing are welcome to join in!
