Walmart Next

The Isla Vista Recreation and Park District Board of Directors is now proposing parking permits in some of the parks parking lots. The last thing Isla Vista needs is to pay for what is now free parking. The staff proposed the measures as a way to raise $80,000 to restore bathrooms in one park. The staff is wrong in this “make work” idea.

The IVRPD might look into the actions of the former directors who infamously used taxpayer monies on very questionable projects of “improvements.”

Parking permits lead to parking meters and to Walmart, etc. The California Coastal Commission has already voted this type of proposal down and out.

The ugly gentrification of Isla Vista must end now and permanently.
