Foreign Entanglements

So here we (the United States) are, on the brink of getting ourselves involved in yet another war. Russia is stepping into Ukraine, so John Kerry is going to go over there and stick our nose into it.

How do “progressives,” or Democrats, possibly think this administration is less pro-war than other administrations? (And lest we forget, one of Obama’s promises before getting elected was to step up the U.S.’s military role in Afghanistan.) And how do the supposedly patriotic or conservative Republicans consider themselves patriotic with their pro-war agenda when that great patriot George Washington said — at his farewell address — “Beware of foreign entanglements”?

The U.S. boycotted the 1980 Olympics because the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, but the U.S. ended up invading this same country.

Meanwhile, people wonder why it isn’t safe for U.S. citizens to travel to many places abroad.
