Santa Barbara County, CA – Graham Tatomer, a rising star on the American riesling and grüner veltliner scene, has announced that he recently left his post as winemaker for Martian Ranch & Vineyards in Los Alamos, to devote himself full-time to his relatively nascent brand.

Formerly with iconic producers Brewer-Clifton, The Ojai Vineyard, and Weingut Knoll, Tatomer began his career in the wine business at the young age of 16, when he accepted a cellar job at Santa Barbara Winery.

Flash forward nearly two decades later, and Tatomer has gained international recognition for his steely, elegant, bone-dry rieslings and lean, pretty gruner vertliners, “In 2008, I founded Tatomer with two riesling vineyards. My intention was to use my knowledge to make bone-dry riesling in California unlike many of the off-dry examples in the marketplace today. I made a mere 400 cases in a small corner of a good friend’s boutique winery. Since then, I have added one more riesling vineyard, as well as two grüner veltliner vineyards for a total production of 1,400 cases. I plan to explore the depth of my current sites; and pursue new Central Coast terroirs in the years to come,” says Tatomer.

A favorite among chefs, sommeliers and fans of crisp white wines, Tatomer wines can be explored further at www.tatomerwines.com.
