The Profant Foundation for the Arts wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Nicole Alejandra Pierpont for asking us to participate in the annual celebration of Día de los Muertos at the Santa Barbara County Bowl this year. Since 2005 our organization has been the owner and caretaker of the Brozik Mask Collection, a group of performance masks that were created in the 1950s for presentations at the Courthouse. They are truly a part of Santa Barbara’s cultural history, and this past Saturday, November 1, a few selections from the collection were brought to life by dancers as they greeted the audience.
We continually seek opportunities for these masks to be displayed and enjoyed by the Santa Barbara community, and we truly appreciate Nicole’s invitation, as well as her amazing imagination, energy, and efforts that made the spectacular event possible.
