Donors responding to the Santa Barbara City College Foundation appeal in last week’s issue may want to specify that contributions go to “Student Scholarships Only.” This is a laudable program, worthy of support, but last year the SBCC Foundation contributed a big chunk of money to the failed Measure S bond campaign out of its general funds, a result that may not have been intended by some of its donors.
