I have never written a letter to an editor before, but I want everyone to know that Miss Joan Hartmann is great. Two years ago, I was in 6th grade and failing. I was scared and frustrated. My parents were really worried and told Miss Joan. She went to my teachers, she started tutoring me every afternoon, and she helped me get organized and showed my mother how to track my homework.
That summer, she scheduled summer school three hours for three days a week and worked to get me caught up in math and reading and grammar. She also got me into some summer camp programs, museums, and took me to the library every week for books that I liked (snakes and dinosaurs).
I not only started getting much better grades, but I got an award from my school for academic excellence.
Miss Joan helped me — a lot. She will help you, too. You should vote for her.
