Remembering Whitney

Elizabeth Turner’s In Memoriam tribute to Whitney Victoria Lindelof was marvelous. I knew Whitney only slightly as the only places I had ever seen her were various karaoke venues. She performed with such energy that her audiences couldn’t help but admire her force and intensity.

And she was friendly with those audiences. One fond memory I have is when she told me she ran a pet-sitting business. My first thought was “an animal-lover indeed.” I’m sure others have memories equally fond.

Whitney’s death from complications of a defective, enlarged heart comes as a terrible shock and with deep sadness. I, for one, always thought she looked healthy.

Whitney Lindelof may have been born with an abnormally large heart. But she had a large heart in more ways than one.

RIP, dear Whitney. You are fondly and sadly missed.
