Video game designer Jay Kristopher Huddy has invented a new, free augmented reality app called ReplayAR. To demonstrate it, he put together a two-minute YouTube video that overlays historical photos from Neal Graffy’s book Santa Barbara Then and Now with present-day images of the city. “Everything you’ll see was entirely made on an iPhone using the free ReplayAR app, which can easily create similar custom AR experiences,” Huddy said in an email. “Hopefully, your readers will find fun and educational uses for this new technology and create their own augmented reality videos!”
