Free Speech Doesn’t Mean “Free for All”

Sadly, many people in America today still find it necessary to justify bad behavior by defending it with their First Amendment rights, and that may be true, but it still doesn’t make it right or accepted. The First Amendment certainly protects your right to speak. But there’s no absolute protection from the effects of what you say — particularly when those words may put a specific person in fear of injury or death. Thankfully there’s many more of us who are glad we don’t have to defend our behavior by pointing to our freedom of speech as our defense.
