I have lived in Santa Barbara all my life and have owned rental properties. I have always been proud to provide good, clean, well-maintained homes at affordable prices; hence, my tenants are happy and usually permanent.
The City Council has not taken into consideration the rising costs of insurance, maintenance, and utilities, so it is putting a terrible burden on good landlords to continue to provide the best for our tenants.
It needs rethinking.
