The parent may ask ” How do I talk to my kid?”   while the kid may say “Parents just don’t understand”  Acts of violence in schools and other public places have stunned the nation. Children, in particular, may experience anxiety, fear, and a sense of personal risk. They feel the tension in those around them — friends, family members, loved ones, caregivers, and other adults who have a direct impact on the well-being of children. Three professionals in the field of education an mental health and wellness in collaboration with Ortega Park Steering Committee and Youth. BrigadeSB presents three workshops addressing healing the process of communication between parents, teens, and educators. topics of discussion range from youth rage, loss, active listening, and the use of art and creativity as a healing way of coping.  Ali Cortez, Kari Driscoll, and Alex Tasma make up a dream team of experienced parents, educators, and advocates for adolescents’  right to a healthier life. We welcome parents, educators, and teens to this engaging community event. JOIN a day of listening and learning.  Artful activities workshop will be ongoing  Baked treats are available for purchase by So Good Creations. “This is the first in a series of mental wellness events that were inspired by our Youth.
