“The Mousetrap” will premiere at the historic Alcazar Theatre in Carpinteria on September 22 and run two weekends through October 1. The play has been captivating audiences in London for over 70 years. Agatha Christie, best known for her mystery novels, has written over 20 plays, including “The Mousetrap,” which opened in London’s West End in 1952. It holds the record of being the longest-running play in the history of Western theatre.
The production, under the theatrical direction of Jim Sirianni, boasts an impressive cast of eight talented actors. Five Alcazar stage newcomers hailed from Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. The cast includes Emily Vallance, Louis John, Chad Curtis Wood, Jonathan Malindine, and Will Muse, along with Sam Szpor, Emma-Jane Huerta, and Sharon Reinhold, who have all appeared in productions this past season.
The showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. from September 22nd to October 1st.
