San Marcos High School Theater Presents, “Singin’ in the Rain”

Set against the backdrop of Hollywood’s glamorous golden age, “Singing in the Rain” tells the story of Don Lockwood (played by senior Milo Bustany),  a silent film star, as he navigates the transition into the era of “talkies” alongside his talented co-star, Kathy Selden (played by Naomi Jane Voight) and his sidekick Cosmo (played by Sebastian Marin) against the wiles of his diva film partner Lina Lamont (played by senior Elise Tsoukalas).  Filled with romance, comedy, and plenty of song and dance, this beloved musical promises an evening of pure entertainment for audiences of all ages.

Under the direction of Shannon Saleh, with choreography by Christina McCarthy, costume design by Renee Levy and vocal and instrumental music direction by Eleni Pantages and Michael Kiyoi and set and lighting design by Jonathan Mitchell,  nearly 60 students on-and off-stage have been rehearsing tirelessly to bring this beloved story to life. The students do everything from assisting with set building backstage to costumes, sets, hair & makeup, and the technical roles of lighting and sound. From the iconic umbrella-twirling number to the charming “Good Morning” routine, audiences can expect a production that stays true to the spirit of the original film while adding its own unique flair.
