The Alcazar Theatre

The Alcazar Theatre in Carpinteria is excited to host its inaugural Carpinteria Film Festival, a three-day event dedicated to celebrating local storytelling and creativity. Founded by Michael Lazaro, the owner of Carp Events and Board President of the Alcazar, the festival aims to provide a platform for filmmakers of all experience levels to showcase their short films.

“The Alcazar Theatre has been a gathering place since 1928,” said Lazaro. “This festival honors that legacy while creating space for new filmmakers to shine.”

Audiences can look forward to an eclectic lineup of short films spanning various genres, including drama, comedy, documentary, and experimental works. The festival not only highlights talented filmmakers but also fosters community engagement, showcasing Carpinteria’s vibrant arts scene.
