Stephen W Rezzonico
Stephen was born in Santa Barbara, Ca. One of seven children, born to Edna and Charles Rezzonico. After graduating from Santa Barbara High School in 1963, Steve devoted his entire career working for the County of Santa Barbara as Facilities Supervisor with the Public Works Department. He approached his work with pride and dedication. In his spare time, he would keep meticulous care of his home and garden. When he retired, he and his wife Janet Gallagher embraced a peaceful new chapter together in Morro Bay. A gentle soul, Steve carried a deep appreciation for nature and all living things, especially his dogs Andy and Ernie. His passions included but are not limited to restoring classic cars, attending car shows with his wife in the passenger seat, camping, hiking, and fishing. He found joy in art and music and the simple pleasure of a quiet walk and-without-fail-a scoop of vanilla ice cream after dinner. But above all, Steve’s greatest love was his family.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janet; brothers John, Mark, Robert, his daughters Tracy (Ron) Hoogendyk of McCall, Idaho, and Maia Simonson; and his cherished grandchildren Jacquelyn ( BJ) , Kylie ( Cody) , Summer, and Dylan, who will carry his memory evermore.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at Westmont of Santa Barbara and Central Coast Hospice for the compassion and comfort they provided during Steve’s final chapter. Steve will be laid to rest at Santa Barbara Cemetery.
