La Lieff Winery

Challenging society’s anti-aging obsession, wellness advocate and author Patricia Greenberg brings her transformative “It’s OK to Be Old” event to La Lieff Winery on Wednesday, January 21, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. The intimate gathering combines wine tasting, meditation, and expert insights to help attendees embrace aging as an adventure worth celebrating.

“We live in a culture that fears aging, yet people are living longer than ever,” says Greenberg, creator of the “It’s OK to Be Old” movement and author of the book by the same name. “This disconnect causes unnecessary suffering. Our event offers a revolutionary alternative—celebrating getting older instead of dreading it.”

The two-hour program features Greenberg in conversation with moderator James Melillo and special guest Teresa Kuskey, founder of La Boheme Dance Company. Together, they’ll explore what Greenberg calls “the art, science, and mystery of aging well.”

Event Highlights Include:

Guided meditation designed to release aging anxiety
Expert insights on becoming a “Super Ager”
Discussion of latest research on health span versus lifespan
Interactive Q&A on nutrition, movement, and cognitive vitality
Wine tasting courtesy of host venue La Lieff Winery

Thanks to generous sponsorship from La Lieff Winery, Mystery Vibe, The Fitness Gourmet Publishing, Revitin Biological Toothpaste, and La Boheme Dance Company, tickets are available for just $25. Each attendee receives a glass of wine, a signed copy of Greenberg’s book “It’s OK to Be Old,” and curated wellness products.

“This isn’t your typical wellness seminar,” notes Greenberg. “It’s an intimate gathering where every voice matters, every question gets answered, and everyone leaves with practical tools for thriving at any age.”

The event comes at a time when Americans are increasingly concerned about aging, with AARP reporting that 87% of adults over 50 fear age discrimination, and the anti-aging industry projected to reach $421.4 billion by 2030. Greenberg’s approach offers a radical alternative: embracing aging as a natural, valuable part of life.

Teresa Kuskey, whose La Boheme Dance Company has pioneered movement programs for older adults, will share insights on maintaining vitality through creative expression. “Movement is medicine at any age,” says Kuskey. “Our bodies have an incredible capacity for renewal that doesn’t diminish with birthdays.”

The Santa Barbara event is part of Greenberg’s broader mission to transform cultural attitudes about aging. A former fitness and nutrition expert known for The Fitness Gourmet brand, Greenberg evolved her wellness philosophy after recognizing that true health encompasses accepting and celebrating every life stage.
