An evening service intended for rest and contemplation. Compline is led by the Rev. Sarah Thomas. It begins with synthesized ambient music by DJ artist, Andrew Elia, then a transition with loose-leaf brewed herbal tea, and concludes with the opportunity to hear a person share a personal story.
This month’s storyteller is Dane Goodman. Dane’s artwork has been shown across the US and is in numerous public and private collections. He was awarded the County of Santa Barbara’s Individual Artist Award and named a Master Artist by FOTM organization. His career also includes being the designer and coordinator of exhibitions for the Santa Barbara Museum of Art and the director of the Santa Barbara City College gallery. He was twice a panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington, D.C. He will share a story about Tug, other ways of being in the world through the use of uncommon art materials.
Incense and candlelight are used during the service. Trinity is an LGBTQ+ welcoming and affirming congregation. www.trinitysb.org/compline
