Winter weather is making a surprise appearance at the Santa Barbara Zoo, where 80 tons of snow will transform the grounds into a snowy playground for its annual Snow Leopard Festival, on Saturday, February 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (9 a.m. early admission for Zoo members only).
Families can bundle up and enjoy sledding and fun in the snow while the Zoo’s animals, including Layan the new snow leopard, receive snowy enrichment in their habitats.
The Snow Leopard Festival celebrates this elusive mountain cat while raising awareness about snow leopards and the challenges they face in the wild.
