Buddhist Church Of Santa Barbara
Whether you’re a lifelong Buddhist, want to reconnect with your Buddhist roots, or are curious about Buddhism come join the Buddhist Church of Santa Barbara (BCSB)’s monthly gathering.
Join us at our picturesque temple on Santa Barbara’s Eastside on Saturday February 14th at 10 am for a Buddhist service that includes moments to quiet the mind, chanting of traditional texts called sutras, and hearing a dharma message from our priest.
The special guest speaker will be Rev. Stacy Reardon, from the San Fernando Valley Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in Los Angeles.
In this special service, we will honor all ancestors who have passed away in the month of February and observe Nirvana Day, which commemorates the death of Sakyamuni Buddha, the great Indian prince-turned-spiritual leader who established Buddhism 2,500 years ago.
A complimentary lunch with refreshments will be served.
BCSB is part of the 800-year-old Jodo Shinshu tradition of Japanese Pure Land Buddhism and has been rooted in Santa Barbara since 1913.
