Mist, Leaves, and Early Spring: Taiwanese Oolong in March
A Tea Tasting & Story Circle is a relaxed, embodied mindfulness gathering for up to 7 guests.
Each month, we taste and compare two to three premium East Asian teas, exploring them through scent, color, texture, and taste.
Rather than analyzing tea, we tune into how each cup moves through the body—shifting breath, sensation, and subtle emotion, allowing learning to unfold through direct experience.
This March, we gather with Taiwanese oolong teas under the theme
Mist, Leaves, and Early Spring — the scent of spring.
We begin with Dongfang Meiren (Oriental Beauty), a naturally oxidized oolong shaped by climate, insects, and time.
Its honeyed aroma and soft fruit notes bring warmth and roundness, often settling gently in the chest and inviting memory and quiet reflection.
We then turn to Alishan High Mountain Oolong, grown slowly in cool mountain mist.
Its clean, floral fragrance and silky body offer clarity and spaciousness, supporting steady breath and calm presence.
Depending on the flow of the gathering, additional teas or simple seasonal pairings may be offered to complement the tasting.
Gentle storytelling and optional reflection create space for connection without pressure.
Silence and listening are just as welcome as sharing.
In this early spring moment, tea becomes a quiet guide, inviting presence, gratitude, and community as the season begins to unfold.
