Join us on Saturday, April 11th for “Toast to Liberty” in honor of 250th Anniversary of American Independence, hosted by the Rancho Purisima Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Help us raise a cup to 250 years of American independence with a delicious tea luncheon, live music, silent auction and special appearances by Deborah Sampson & Martha Washington.

For more information, visit https://ToasttoLiberty.eventbrite.com

Deborah Sampson defied convention and danger alike when she disguised herself as a man to fight in the American Revolution, serving honorably in the Continental Army and enduring wounds, hardship, and secrecy in pursuit of liberty.

In this stirring appearance, she will not only recount her own trials and tribulations in the cause of freedom for all, but also speak to the power and resolve of women in the Revolution—arriving proudly clad in the uniform of her regiment.

Martha Washington was more than the wife of a general—she was a steady force behind the cause of American independence, enduring the hardships of war alongside her husband and offering quiet strength to a fledgling nation.

In this special appearance, she will speak on the fates of the Founding Fathers and the brave rebels who signed the Declaration of Independence in defiance of tyranny, risking everything in the hope of securing justice for all.

This event is the Rancho Purisima Chapter’s main annual fundraiser that helps us continue to support the Lompoc Valley through education, historic preservation, and patriotism.

We support local veterans, Wreaths Across America, book angel programs, youth scholarships, and restore historic sites like the River Park Vietnam Memorial, the Lompoc Museum World War I Memorial, and make sure “missing” veterans in our local Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery get the recognition well deserved.
