I read your piece regarding Canadian geese. My question is this: How did you know they were Canadian? Did you check their passports? Did they go “honk-eh”?
Being Canadian is to be a citizen of Canada. Perhaps the writer ought to have referred to them as Canadageese, so as not to confuse their correct name with their supposed citizenship.
One is a Canada Goose; two or more are Canada geese.
