Vera Ivanova: Composing Sound

This talk explores compositional approaches that are ignited by the semantics of the text, translated into the physicality of instrumental gesture, and constructed into hybrid electroacoustic environments. Drawing on a selection of my works, I examine how musical material can emerge from extra-musical sources—poetry, speech, memory, and found sound—and how these materials are transformed into structured sonic experiences across acoustic and electronic domains.
