And bike rides for all . . .
Tuesday, May 12 at the Santa Barbara Public Library’s Faulkner Gallery, CycleMaynia, SBCAG, Move Santa Barbara, and Cycling Without Age Santa Barbara present four short films about the power, magic and joy of a bicycle ride for young and old and neighbors near and far. Four award winning films by Pedal Born Pictures’ Santa Barbara-born-and-raised filmmakers Isaac Seigel Boettner and Jacob Seigel Brielle.
Kiddical Mass – kids and families taking over the streets of Berkeley Critical Mass-style.
I Play Biking – high schoolers donning bike jerseys instead of more traditional ones.
The Comeback Girls – Maggie and Febby two young Malawian women and how the bicycles saved and transform their lives.
Cycling Without Age – older folks rolling through the streets of Santa Barbara, bringing joy to themselves and everyone who shares their road.
Reception at 4:30.
Films roll at 5.
And when the lights go up there will be a Q&A with Vanessa Rencher from Move Santa Barbara’s Bike Education Program, Lynneal Williams from Move Santa Barbara’s BiciCentro Bike Shop, Tim Barker from Santa Barbara Youth Mountain Bike Club, and Diana La Riva from Cycling Without Age Santa Barbara.
Admission is free. Bike Valet Parking provided by MOVE SB COUNTY.
