On June 16, Bloomsday returns for its fifth year in Santa Barbara!
The annual celebration of James Joyce’s ULYSSES will be held at a new venue this year, the historic Alhecama Theater.
More than a dozen area actors and others will read from the famed and influential novel, joining hundreds of other Bloomsday events worldwide. For regular attendees: Yes, there will be Guinness! We’ll have that lovely beverage along with others things to drink and some Bloomsday-themed snacks and more. Doops open at 6 pm, the show starts at 6:30 pm.
Donations will be requested at the door for the Santa Barbara Library Foundation.
Bloomsday is probably best for adults, but all are welcome.
Even if you have not read the book, it’s an entertaining evening of wonderful literature and language.
