Dear friends and community members,
Research shows that intrusive regulations imposed on massage businesses under the guise of anti-trafficking measures—like the ordinance proposed in Santa Barbara—have harmed, rather than helped, vulnerable immigrant workers.
Please join us for an evening of learning from local massage workers in conversation with activist scholars Dr. Mireille Miller-Young and Dr. Kimberly Soriano. We will seek to better understand the lived realities of massage workers and discuss community responses to stigmatizing regulatory practices.
This event is sponsored by UC Santa Barbara’s Center for Feminist Futures
