Diane June Williams
1932– 2026
Diane June Williams, 94, a lifelong resident of Santa Barbara, California, passed away on September 16, 2026.
Born and raised in Santa Barbara, she graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1950. In 1963, she and her husband purchased a home in the San Roque neighborhood, where she would live for the remainder of her life. That home became the heart of our family and a place filled with love, good food, hard work, and cherished memories.
She was an industrious and resourceful mother who devoted herself to raising her children. She sewed many of our school clothes and even taught herself to cut our hair. Her creativity and talent extended beyond her family through her side business, Diane’s Decor, where she reupholstered sofas and chairs, primarily for friends and family. Her friends were often amazed when their old furniture came back looking brand-new!
Her kitchen was her favorite place in the house, and she was an excellent cook. For nine years, she made cheesecakes for Chuck’s Steak House. Her love of cooking was just one of the many ways she showed family and friends how much she cared.
Our mother also loved planning family vacations. Winter trips to Yosemite and summer days water-skiing at the lake became treasured traditions. She was always inviting others to join the fun, generously making room for friends and extended family to share in the memories.
Above all, she was kind, caring, and exceptionally generous. She was always thinking of others and looking for ways to give. Her desire to understand the meaning of life was deeply influenced by an early family tragedy: the loss of her eight-year-old twin brother, Don, to scarlet fever.
Her spiritual search eventually led her to study the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses. On May 25, 1968, she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She came to love her God Jehovah deeply and was eager to share her faith and the hope she found so comforting in the Bible with others. Many of the people with whom she studied the Bible with became lifelong friends and an important part of her extended family.
She also dearly loved her friends, both young and old, in the Island View Congregation. Many of them visited her regularly, especially when she could no longer attend meetings in person. Their visits brought her great joy and reflected the deep bond of affection they shared with each other. She appreciated this so much!
Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Gary, and four of her children.
She is survived by her children Jeff, Terri, and Tracy and his wife Janie, her brother, Dave Kleinebecker, and his wife, Redith; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Our mom will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her!
