Fundraiser Scheduled for Mural Master

Manuel Unzueta, the undisputed godfather of mural art throughout the South Coast, will be the beneficiary of a fundraising gala this Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at El Paseo Restaurant to help him recover from the fire that wiped out his backyard studio on Santa Barbara’s Eastside.

Big Money Year for County Crops

Veterans Memorial Building Declared Historic Landmark

The Veterans Memorial Building on Cabrillo Boulevard was declared a historic landmark by the City Council for its architectural significance, and the grounds around and below it were declared historic as well in deference to Chumash villages that occupied the site for nearly 5,000 years.

A glass sculpture of two adjoining feathered wings that pays tribute to the importance of Santa Barbara as a training site for marine pilots during WWII will soon greet travelers coming and going from the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport as they pass by the Earle Ovington Terminal.
