🎉 INDY40 Fest 🎉

The Santa Barbara Independent is celebrating 40 years of journalism!

To help celebrate we are throwing a free block party that starts on the parade grounds of the El Presidio de Santa Bárbara State Historic Park, where attendees can step into their own Independent cover presented by Paradise Found, float between festival zones, and get exclusive merch.

All-day live music from Roll-N-Rock 805, featuring performances by Bradberri, East Valley Road, The Bad Neighbors, and student performers on the Vista Del Monte Community Stage.

Inside the Presidio Chapel, we will host journalism panels presented by Bluedot Institute as well as the Indy’s Reunion Lounge presented by Cottage Women’s Health to mix and mingle with current and former staff throughout the afternoon. You can eat your lunch and recharge at SBCC’s Community Rest Stop then explore more festival fun at Royal Restoration’s Kids Zone.

The fest doesn’t end there — head out into the neighborhood and explore our business pit stops. From lunch offerings and tastings to mini deals, samples, giveaways, and playful interactive moments throughout the Presidio neighborhood and Downtown, we’ll have a full day of fun for everyone, no matter their style of celebrating!
