March 26, 2026 | Featuring: Michael Demkovich, O.P. & Jack Clark Robinson, O.F.M. – “Dominicans and Franciscans: Always Brothers and Always Different”
🗣Dominicans and Franciscans are incredible “fraternal – not identical – twins,” born at the same time and with the same goal, to proclaim the Gospel and the truth of the Catholic Faith. Over the years, both Orders have served as outstanding missionaries around the world. Frs. Michael and Jack are each highly regarded experts in the history, traditions, and spirituality of their respective communities. Come here them share insights into what makes their fraternities a gift to the Church and the world.

About the series: Join a select group of those interested in an informative conversation with experts who will first share from a vast store of knowledge, then engage with those present in a lively give & take.
About our speakers:
Fr. Michael Demkovich entered the Dominicans in 1976 and was ordained in 1981. He holds both the pontifical doctorate (SThD) as well as his PhD in Religious Studies from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium. His dissertation ‘Life Gives the Most Noble Lessons’ was on Meister Eckhart and his mysticism. He has taught in various graduate schools such as the Blackfriars Oxford, Aquinas Institute St Louis, and Oblate School of Theology San Antonio. He is vice chair of the English Eckhart Society and has published numerous articles and books, as well as being an international speaker and retreat master. He recently published his ‘Trilogy on Trust’ and is currently working on ‘Thomas Aquinas: Teacher, Preacher, Mystic.’
Jack Clark Robinson, OFM has been a Franciscan friar for over forty years and in love with history for sixty years. A perpetual student, he has degrees in speech and drama, law, ministry, and a PhD in history from the US Santa Barbara. He was ordained a priest at Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico and his former ministries include missionary, pastor, Franciscan formator and administrator, as well as college professor. He returned to Santa Barbara in 2022 to serve as Executive Director of the Santa Barbara Mission Archive-Library, where he has the joy of sharing history all the time!
