Beau James Wilding is a solo artist from the South- Central coast of California. His music pays homage to a wide range of influences, including punk, metal and traditional folk music. He’s an accomplished musician in his own right, having played guitar and written songs since the age of fifteen. Beau’s relationship with music intensified at the age of eighteen after a disease left him “ legally blind”. He struggled to find his place in the world until finding music and creativity as a home to return to.

“The Lowlands of Holland” is the second single from Beau’s forthcoming fifth studio album, to be entitled Ceol Trismegistus. The track, released officially to digital streaming platforms on August 22, 2025 is Beau’s interpretation of a folk ballad whose earliest written recordings date back to the mid-18th century in Scotland. Beau’s version is dark, driving, atmospheric and drone heavy. The messiness of slide guitars against the crunch of electric guitar and the pound of the bodhran invoke the feeling of being trapped in a storm at sea. The hypnotic quality of the droning shruti box and synthesizer entrance and lull the listener while Beau’s fierce vocal delivery cuts through the storm to deliver this timeless tale of loss from the female perspective.

An accompanying music video will be released on YouTube on August 22 as well, directed by Joseph Arney of 15 Birds Productions.

A performance to celebrate the release will take place at the brewLAB in Carpinteria on August 23, 2025 with an opening set by Maya Lumen starting at 5 PM.

Maya Lumen is an instrumental rock band that bends and blends progressive arrangements with elements of folk and flamenco as composed and curated by psychotherapist and fine art painter Jacqueline F. Moore. Maya Lumen creates a dynamic soundscape to accompany the listener on an intimate exploration of emotional landscapes. The result is an invitation to  catharsis  rooted in a non-lyrical beckoning to the wisdom innate in our bodies, a bold  movement through feelings which may be challenging to express in words.

Admission is free. We are hoping for a food truck but as yet TBD.
