On Saturday, October 25th, 2025, author Zack Reed will be hosting a book launch party for his recent release, ‘Same Bag, Different Bunk: My Life Inside American Hostels‘ at the ITH Santa Barbara Surf Hostel. The event will start at 6 p.m. on the outdoor patio of the ITH Santa Barbara Surf Hostel.
Reed’s book illuminates the hostel industry in America in a candid light, using a compilation of interviews, essays, and reflections from the road to illustrate what it is like to spend several months as a backpacker, traveling through hostels in the United States. Reed will be hosting a Q&A session with guests and raffling off merchandise, as well as signing and selling copies of his book.
