CHOPPED LIVER BAND
Nothing to wrinkle your nose up at, Chopped Liver is a local contra- and English country dance band whose repertoire includes a wide range of traditional and original tunes, performed in a lively and unique manner. Band members Michael Mendelson (fiddle), Suzanne Duffy (flute), Jeff Spero (piano), and Bill Flores (banjo, mandolin, dobro, tenor sax) have tight rhythms and a driving sound that will lift your spirits in exhilarating ways, bringing you closer to your dancing family and friends. You can have your fill of this Chopped Liver and keep wanting to come back for more!
Kelsey Hartman call for us, and she is a treat not to be missed. Kelsey is a “contraholic,” and can often be found any given weekend dancing or (recently) calling a contra dance. Her inspiration for calling comes from Nils Fredland, whose callers’ workshop at American Week (BACDS) in 2012 spurred her down the caller’s path. When calling, she considers herself a conduit between the dancers and the band, helping to channel the joy of the musicians’ music through flowing, interesting dances. Always upbeat and personable, she easily bridges the gap for beginning dancers and experienced dancers alike.
