Eco-Printing Atelier at Lotusland

Learn how to capture botanical prints on fabric with Santa Barbara fiber artist Linda Kollofski and Lotusland’s Assistant Curator Anna Bower.

Together they will lead an interactive workshop using plant material gathered at Lotusland.

Participants will receive instruction on the basics behind eco printing including: fabric selection and preparation, appropriate plants, and bundling tips.

All materials are included in the workshop fee and participants will go home with one silk scarf and one silk table runner of their own design, each prepared using a different dye technique.

New this year: the table runner project will feature an additional tannin source to impart a colored background to the cloth.

The workshop will culminate with a discussion of the results from the day and a showcase of other eco printed works from the instructors.
