Garrett Speirs is a contemporary landscape painter based in Santa Ynez, California.
Working in oils, gouache, lithography, and ceramics, Speirs explores the intersection of realism and abstraction.
His paintings often appear realistic from a distance, but dissolve into expressive brushstrokes up close—an intentional play on the imperfection of our own observations.
Rather than presenting a “finished” moment, his works exist in a state of formation or disintegration, capturing the transitory nature of the landscape and our momentary place within it.
