Maker House is proud to present Fragments We Keep, a group exhibition showcasing new ceramic works by Zoya Abbas, Kia Harlan, and Lyra Purugganan, participants in the 2025 Summer Emerging Artists Program.
The exhibition will be on view through September 25, 2025, with a closing reception scheduled for Sunday, September 21, from 3:00–5:00 PM at Maker House in Goleta.
“Fragments We Keep is a group exhibition featuring works by Zoya Abbas, Kia Harlan, and Lyra Purugganan, created during the Maker House Emerging Artists Program.
Rooted in shared discovery, instinct, and experimentation, this exhibition brings together three distinct ceramic practices that intersect through time and space.
Zoya Abbas is a ceramicist drawn to the marvels of clay and driven to produce meticulous objects inspired by textiles and marine life.
Kia Harlan is a mixed media artist based in LA, seeking to create interior decor that creates a warm ambiance and sparks whimsy in one’s home.
Lyra Purugganan is a sculptor and lover, working to find the material and cultural intersections of metals, fibers, and ceramics.
What emerged from this program were fragments: traces of thought, moments of transformation, and pieces that hold meaning beyond resolution.
Together, they speak to the value of process, the power of intuition, and the personal things we carry forward.”
The Maker House Emerging Artists Program supports early-career artists through studio access and mentorship.
Over the course of the summer, Abbas, Harlan, and Purugganan developed their practices within the vibrant, collaborative studio environment at Maker House, culminating in this final exhibition.
