IT BEGINS WITH LIGHT
The quality of light, it’s intensity, it’s hue, and every shape it falls on, it always begins there for an artist. What each one does with it depends on the artist, and this September Ellen Yeomans and Linda Hanly will showcase their interpretations of the light and everything it touches. From coastal landscapes, historic architecture to backyard gardens, come by the Gallery Los Olivos to see two artists representations of subjects touched by light.
Ellen Yeomans grew up in the Southern California outdoors where light and beautiful landscapes are plentiful. Plein air painting in Santa Barbara is her most beloved way of being outdoors. She strives to infuse her paintings with the joy, excitement and peace that the outdoors inspires in her.
Linda Hanly enjoys watching the light rest on the delicate flower petals of both wild and tended flower gardens. From the Santa Barbara botanic garden to roadside hollyhocks, her joy in either painting or drawing is seeing the transition of light and dark, lost and found edges.
