Both Lloyd Kahn & Bill Steen have long been fascinated by the human story of Shelter. In books and practical teachings, they have shared how diverse cultures adapt and build according to their needs using materials close at hand, often with great beauty.
Bringing it into the present they both share, write & teach to modern day audiences.
Lloyd Khan has written & published many books through the decades on how to build shelter gaining a devoted following. A pioneer of the green building and green architecture movements, he is a publisher, editor, author, photographer, carpenter, and self-taught architect. He is the founding editor-in-chief of Shelter Publications.
Starting with the Whole Earth catalog as its Shelter editor, he later started Shelter publishing company, a 50-year-old independent publishing company known for its high-quality books about home building.

The all day event takes place on the Figueroa Mountain in the Los Padres National Forest. Lunch provided.
