Community Environmental Council
Join Community Environmental Council (CEC), the Society of Fearless Grandmothers Santa Barbara, and the Sierra Club Santa Barbara-Ventura Chapter to learn about local land conservation initiatives.
Eric Cardenas, Director of Impact and Advocacy at Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, will moderate a panel featuring The Land Trust for Santa Barbara County’s Executive Director Meredith Hendricks, Ventura Land Trust’s Executive Director Melissa Baffa, and Coastal Ranches Conservancy’s Executive Director Dr. Candice Meneghin.
Panelists will explore the role of land-based conservation non-profits as collaborators in the regional biodiversity vision and policy framework.
They will also share insights about their organizations, offer hopeful perspectives, and highlight ways the community can engage with and support these important conservation efforts.
Climate Fridays Santa Barbara are monthly gatherings for activists, students, partners, and community members to learn about regional climate change issues, take collective action, and collaborate to protect our planet.
These gatherings are part of the CEC’s A Year of Active Hope, a series of free events hosted at our Environmental Hub to unite the community and create space for courage, connection, and change.
